Jposeph Pirzada, responsible for all of those great MRS packages, has done it again and has released this INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL BOOK / CD of all the known (29 tracks) that so far have surfaced of Elvis' appearnaces on the Louisiana Hayride Show.All have been re-mastered using the most sophisticated non commercial technology. It includes restored and more complete versions of many of the tracks than ever before. Fans will be delighted to finally hear a much improved and richer version of tracks such as Hearts of Stone & I'm Left You're Right She's Gone. The CD will also contain Elvis' last performance on the Louisiana Hayride in December 1956 which again, is re-mastered, complete and pitch corrected. This ia an incredible CD and 100-page book issued by the great Joseph Pirzada. The CD contains recordings made during Elvis' time off duty in Germany. Thirty of these are unnreleased tracks privately recorded while stationed in the US and Germany and are released officially for the first time to the public. The quality on a lot of these "Home Recordings" is in poor audio quality and are unlikely to ever be released by BMG. Most Elvis fans will never have heard them before. The recordings from Bad Nauheim summer 1959 are very interesting. Part of this session has already released by FTD on IN A PRIVATE MOMENT - but here the tape is complete and the tracks are different versions straight from the original tape. The book features over 150 photos with everything from official publicity shots and Army photos to very rare candid images. The quality of the print is top-rate and similar in design to the MRS Tupelo CD/Book (a little larger than a regular CD) but this time with over twice as many pages. OFF DUTY again features the same hard-back high quality cover with canvas feel and a special insert for the CD itself. There is also a great section showing his various Publicity Shots taken for the German TELDEC Record Company. Several of these photos would end up being used on sleeves of his new 1960 RCA releases. One has to wonder why The Colonel didn't arrange an ELVIS IS BACK publicity photo shoot nearer to Elvis' army discharge to capture Elvis' new sixties look.
