But the most interesting thing about it is that it appears to be GENUINELY signed by Elvis. We contacted our friend of thirty plus years (LIVIO MONARI) in Italy and Livio has confirmed that this book originally came out WITHOUT any signature and he too thinks it is probably REAL. It deals exclusively with the concerts from '69 on and does what other similar books just tried to do! There is no comparison with this and another recent "supposedly complete" book! Not only does Stein reproduce reviews of all or most of the shows from various press accounts but he lists each concert, the jumpsuit Elvis wore, the attendance at each show, a detailed list of musicians and backing singers PLUS not only a list of the "normal" songs that Elvis performed during each tour but also a list of unusual ones he sang including songs that he might have only sung one line of!!! I can't begin to tell you what an invaluable book this is if you're into this period. And, if you're into pictures, there are over 200 mostly FULL COLOR photos showing the various jumpsuits he wore! BMG China has done it again and so far has been the only country that has really and truly decided to promote the 30th Anniversary of Elvis' passing. The history behind this SPECIAL PROMOTIONAL NOT FOR SALE EDITION CD is VERY, VERY UNUSUAL from what we can gather from our sources. Apparently BMG CHINA had scheduled a special 2 CD set for the 30TH called 30 YEARS AFTER - FRESH AND NEW (NOTE: this is the correct title WITHOUT "STILL" included!). It was to contain 60 tracks with all of them REMASTERED and REMIXED and with possibly at least half of them either alternate takes or mastered so different that they sound like different takes. Unfortunately we do not know what the original song listings were but we were able to obtain a pre release sheet on this special promo version. Anyway, apparently BMG U.S. decided to withdraw permission for the regular CD's release but some copies of the promo DID get out. This may just be the RAREST Elvis promo CD EVER!!! Anyway, finally the Khan Record label got permission , just this year, from BMG to issue this legal LIMITED CD which may in fact turn out to be the ONLY CD on Elvis released there but time will tell. Please also note that it is illegal to send any of these CD's out of Mongolia. For this reason this CD is one of the rarest ever on Elvis. We can't go into details as to how we managed to get FOUR of them (they are on the way to us now) but just be glad we could.
